Hi Adam, Skoda Yeti driver here (170bhp TDI with gen 5 Haldex 4x4 system), not too dissimilar to the Duster, no mods thus far other than Michelin all terrain tyres for better grip and 1/2" extra ride height. How did you find the drive back up Jumble Road (I wish you'd recorded that though appreciate not the best result in the darkness)? I'm thinking of tackling it this week and knew from my own research that it must be done in return with no exit at the bottom. I've joined GLASS and am using Trailwise2 to rationalise my previous research via county Definitive Maps, TW2 being the most up to date with user comments etc, a superb resource. I too have zero desire to go where I shouldn't nor to cause problems with other users on legally permissible lanes, and having become a subscriber a few weeks ago I'm enjoying watching my way through your videos and can say that you're a great inspiration for me to get out and enjoy the hobby. :)

Used to do this lane 10+ years ago. And used to get moaned at by the golf course, shame it’s been blocked at the keyham lane end. Bit of squeeze to get down it in my d2😂

The Leicestershire lanes always attract me the most as I'm in the area, never driven this and looking at the exit on Streetview it doesn't look like it's been driven for a very long time. Impressive that it was driveable at all.

Having proper off-road tyres, airing down, picking your lines. You can have the greatest 4WD system, but if the driver doesn't know how to operate it, it doesn't matter.

I've been in similar situations in my Duster, if you let your tyres down to 15psi you may have driven straight out. I know I wasn't there but it's always worth a go, it's surprising, in the situations where I've been stuck, letting the tyres down has allowed my to drive out of all of them, so far.

I've always been impressed with what the little Duster can do, it looked like you were almost out at one point. Shame about the 4WD system turning off when you needed it, I'm still a fan of mechanical 4WD. So useful extra gear might be a hand winch, wellies and a ratchet strap for your trousers!

This route is particularly good for motorised vehicles, particularly scramblers and 4x4s. Not so good for horses.

After watching you're videos I decided to give it a go. I went down Deerdale Lane near mansfield. I was shocked to how much fly tipping has been happing. No wonder get getting harder to use byways if people keep doing it.

Last time I went down here was probably 2016 nice to see it’s had a bunch of work done to it it was nearly impassable when I went in a lifted defender 90

I went to ride this on Wednesday (local to me) Signs on the approach road at the Carr end stated ‘Rolling road works’…..whatever that implies, as there certainly was no work being undertaken from what I could see 🤷🏼‍♂️

should be open again in June 2024 - hopefully get to drive it again

I walked this a few weeks ago (Defender undergoing maintenance), the ditch is washed out so impassible without causing more damage unfortunatly

I was looking for one like this where the real capabilities of the Duster are shown without any modifications or at least no lift kit as I can tell. I would appreciate also some simultaneous shots of the driver and from the inside with comments on which line you are taking, gear, throttle, breaking and so on. And I appreciate also the effort put into naming the locations. Thanks and keep it up. I have a 2022 model and have not yet done any off roading but will start soon now that I found that a skid plates for the EGR valve exists.

How capable are the Duster’s as off roaders?

Tree at 15.06 had eventually fallen so low it was impossable to pass under but has since been cleared by various attempts by vasrious people. Thank you all concerned.

Did this one today. Great but short lane. Did it last year and ended up having to move a pickup full of builders waste fly tipped by some undesirable idiot.

How not to Green lane...

i see so many green laners doing the exact same thing as you, they drive in the rutts. this is bad especially when its wet. drive to the left a bit when there is a chance to, this will give more grip plus will also flatten down the cetral piece of the lane. peopel sticking to the rutts are going to just make it harder for those who dont have so much ground clearance and eventually even alandi wont get through it..... if your going out in this type of weather then take a sieve with you and if you get stuck then chop down sone longer grass or brush by the sides and put that down not just under the wheels but also a bit further along to help with traction.... the rutts become so deep yo ucant even steer out of them unless its bone dry.... its good practice to keep to one side when traveling green lanes then if coming back the other way stick tothe left again. yo uget better traction and again help to flatten out the ground... if worse comes to worse a set of tire chains can even help in the mud, especial the ones from china that are like inside out cam belt to get grip... the duster is a very capable motor if its got the right tyres for off road mud bogging..... i think where yo uwent it done ok considering how you have it set up.

Just bought one of these two days ago. Year model 2015, diesel engine. Great here in snows of Finland!

Excellent pre lane briefing! Very tight overgrown in places. Many dog walkers/ hikers want vehicles banned. Been many cases that without vehicular access the lanes would become overgrown and impassable very quickly ! I’ve also never seen groups of hikers out clearing lanes and draining flooded areas ! Looking forward to watching more of your adventures

Doing a good job Adam keeping these lanes open as some of them look as though there not driven to often.

For the sake of ground-nesting birds and nature in general you should do this 'green-laning' in the winter months only.

Shame on them, You do plenty to promote the vehicles' ruggedness and durability
